Studies have shown that a good nights sleep can help with memory and cognitive function allowing for improved mental performance, also enable our bodies to repair quicker for exercise and improve muscle glycogen repletion.
So how much sleep is required? Well for a health adult a joint consensus statement of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and Sleep Research Society recommends, “7 or more hours per night on a regular basis to promote optimal health”

So what are our tips to aid this…
- Try to avoid the use of mobiles phones or computers just before you sleep
- Avoid drinking caffeine in the evening
- Install black out blinds
- Try to maintain a temperature of 16-18°C (60-65°F) as is thought to be an ideal temperature in a bedroom
