AKA COVID-19
Facts & advice
Symptoms to look out for include; cough, headache, high temperature and shortness of breath. These are very similar to the usual flu virus. However, there is currently no vaccine for COVID-19, thus even those who have had their flu jab are susceptible.
The best way to protect yourself from this virus is by following normal hygiene protocols. This means covering mouth with a tissue when coughing/sneezing, throwing used tissues away immediately, washing hands thoroughly after blowing your nose or touching anything in public, as well as regularly throughout the day, consider wearing a mask if using public transport and stay away from people that are unwell.
To reduce transmission from person to person it has been advised that anyone travelling back from certain high risk countries stay in their home by themselves for a while and call 111 if they experience any of the above symptoms. If you’ve come into close contact with someone who has recently travelled and think you have the virus then 111 will be able to tell you what to do.
Our advice is taken from and more information can be found at the NHS website, which also has lots of great advice and FAQs: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
What not to do
Please do not go to your GP, local pharmacy, hospital or any other healthcare service if you think you have symptoms. The NHS can tell you what steps to take when you call 111.
At Winchester Wellness, we will be taking extra precautions with our hygiene protocols to protect ourselves as well as our patients. We would kindly ask that anyone presenting with flu-like symptoms at this time would call to reschedule your appointment, at no cost, to minimise transmission possibility.
Many thanks for your time and co-operation. Please stay well!
