A useful position to ease lower back pain.
If lower back pain strikes over the festive period, this may come in very handy.
Lay down on your back with your feet and lower legs resting up on a chair/sofa/bed, plus any cushions to make a right angle at your hips and at your knees.
This should release some of the pressure you feel in the lower back standing up or lying flat on your back.
For extra benefit for shoulders, upper back and neck, place your arms out to the sides with right angles at your shoulders and elbows too (as in picture).
If your lower back pain is severe you may want to just relax the hands wherever you can get comfortable.
We hope you don’t NEED to use this at Christmas but we also hope you can find some relief if you do become uncomfortable.
